May 2014 favourites and fails

Another month has passed.
My make up for the month of May reflected my craving for the sun and colours of nature around me.

On warmer days I reached for a runny, lightweight foundations like Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup (1), which is a kind of underdog in the world of beauty. To set my foundation I used my Urban Decay Naked loose powder (2) that seems too dark for me in winter, but now seems to match my self-tanned skin much better. On my cheeks I loved Burberry blush in Peony (3), a matte soft pink shade that goes on velvety and smells sooo good. To add some healthy sunkissed glow to my face I grabbed either The Body Shop Honey bronzer (4) or Soap & Glory Solar Powder (5) to contour and bronze.
On my lids I loved to see lilacs and purples, my favourite being MAC Noir Plum (6), MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Thunder and Rain (7) and Estee Lauder Pure Color eyeshadow in Cyber Lilac (8).
May was an extremely busy month for me and that's why I reached for long-lasting lip products. My favourites were two completely different products, one of them glossy and wet - Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Pandore (9) - and the other one totally matte- Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Personne ne rouge (10).

May was the month of nail polish obsession. I purchased a lot of new polishes and I fell deeply in love with the Revlon Parfumerie line for the shades and the scent and the greatest discovery of the month were the new 1 Second gel polishes Bourjois.

I don't have many skincare favourites as usual, the thing is that I'm rather difficult to impress. I use a lot of drugstore products or samples received in Glossyboxes or from Sephora, but I hardly notice any dramatic improvement in my skin condition, my wrinkles don't disappear, so there's nothing to write about.
But this month I discovered La Roche Posay Redermic C Yeux, which is a lovely undereye moisturiser.
The other three products are my way to achieve glowing, bronze look. Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster gives me a lovely, yet subtle summer tan. St. Tropez Gradual Tan barely offers any tan at all, but it's a wonderful moisturiser and St. Tropez Bronzing Gel gives my legs beautiful , natural tan that I wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

And finally, a fail.
Maybelline Colorama #749 was streaky no matter how many coats I applied. The polish just refused to level itself out. I love the bright yellow shade, but the quality left a lot to wish for.

    1. They are opaque and streak-free in one coat, have a wide brush, dry quickly, have shiny finish and wear for a good couple of days without shrinking, chipping etc. They are by far the best nail polishes I've used so far and they're a drugstore product!
