Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in #20 Copper review & swatches

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in #20 Copper

I don't know why it sometimes takes some products years to reach Poland, and when they finally arrive the shade range is limited to 4 shades out of a wider spectrum. This is the story of Max Factor Excess Shimmer cream eyeshadows. I heard British bloggers rave about these somewhere around 2 years ago and always wanted to give them a go, so now that they're here I picked the only shade I considered wearable.

#20 Copper doesn't look all that copper to me, it's more of a champagne leaning taupe kind of shade with tons of shimmer. This is the shade you'd reach for if you wanted a neat nude look, just a hint of something on the lid or as a base for a variety of other eyeshadows ranging from neutrals to a pop of colour.

The texture of this eyeshadow is amazing. It's soft and creamy and literally melts upon contact with the warmth of the skin, but doesn't go on patchy or unevenly. It blends out perfectly, builds up even better and one it sets it clings to the skin and doesn't budge.
One of the measures of whether cream eyeshadows are good or not is how they age (eg. Maybelline Color Tattoos tend to dry out fast), but it's too soon for me to tell. For the time being I'm completely satisfied and wish there were some darker shades available.
