I know everyone's heard of NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils and my review is nothing new but I feel I need to express my satisfaction with this product.
They are hopeless as eyeshadows (crease and fade within an hour on oily lids) and less than average liners (too thick to be handy and they never set). But once set with powder eyeshadows they form gorgeous eyeshadow bases.
I didn't fully believe the reviewers when they said these pencils were as soft as butter. Apparently you need to see to believe it. They are so easy to apply. Just line along the lid and pat here and there to even them out et voila. Add powder eyeshadow of your choice to set them and to make the colour pop.
This combination will last all day long.
I even managed to use the Dark Brown one as a liner, applied with a thin eyeliner brush. Worked perfectly fine.
Milk is pure matte white which looks a bit weird on its own but combines surprisingly well with all eyeshadows I paired it with, ranging from brights to nudes. This base makes all eyeshadows pop.
Dark Brown is very dark brown indeed, verging on black. Reveals its brown hue only when sheered out. Looks very nice with all browns, coppers and gold.
All in all, great affordable product. I definitely need more of there.
EDIT: There are two regrets I have about the pencils.
1. their white casing gets terribly messy just after one use.
2. the caps break lengthwise for no reason. You don't need to drop or even use the pencil for the cap to break.
Disclaimer: I bought the product myself for my personal use and I am not affiliated with any company. I am not paid to do this review and everything I said here is my genuine opinion.
I have Milk and always love to use it as an e/s base as well. Great review Ladymoonlight!

DeleteI really have no idea why it took me so long to get these. Perhaps it's because I need to order them online as they're unavailable in shops here.
I think I might actually try this out! I always have a tough time applying eyeliner and the fact that it's soft as butter would make it a million times easier. I'll be sure to set it with powder. Thanks for the tip! :)

They may not apply too precisely or evenly, but just a couple of pats do the trick! I've just ordered a couple more!
