Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Nocturnal review

Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Lipstick in Nocturnal
Hourglass Femme Rouge lipsticks are high-end gadgets which apart from their exceptional looks promise to deliver superior quality.
The lipstick is locked inside a gorgeous metal tube with the company logo embossed on its side.
Once opened, the packaging reveals the lipstick with the shape of an hourglass carved in it. Very pretty.

The lipstick, which has a pleasant faint smell, applies like butter giving my lips opaque coverage in one go. It was instant love, even though the sharp, angular edges of the lipstick make the application a bit difficult. The lipstick felt so amazing on my lips that I rushed to my computer to order Icon as well but it was out of stock.

And then came a tiny little, but substantial hiccup.

Strangely enough I noticed that after a couple of hours of wear it feels weirdly drying as for such a buttery, balmy lipstick, makes my lips feel uncomfortable and they looks chapped. The wear time is average, just like ordinary lipsticks of any brand.

On the positive side, I really like the shade. It's a mid-tone berry, dusty rosy pink. Quite unusual and flatter-all kind of colour. I also appreciate the design. However, which such price tag and renown I'd expect a miracle, which didn't happen.

It's a pretty little object with which you might impress your friends pulling it out of your make-up bag for touch-ups, but it definitely isn't the best lipstick in the world.
