Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette review

During my recent Douglas shopping I received two samples of Jimmy Choo fragrances: eau de toilette and eau the parfum. Normally you'd expect these two to be the same product in a more and less intense (and expensive) version. In this case these are two completely different products.

Jimmy Choo Eau de Toilette is a very pleasant, fresh and floral fragrance which to my astonishment evaporates minutes after you spray it on. For me it's a waste of money. I do understand that not everyone enjoys smelling like a perfume shop and having a drop-dead effect on everyone who walks into the same room. But for such a price tag I'd expect some value for my money. This is definitely the best non-smelling perfume in the world. The only market area for this product that comes to my mind are teenage girls whose mothers don't want them to wear anything too obvious in the perfume department. Pity cause the fragrance is really nice for day wear in the spring.

Eau de parfum is a completely different story, which also proves that there's nothing wrong with my nose. This time chypre notes definitely dominate the fruity ones making the fragrance heavier, stronger and pretty long-lasting. Objectively speaking, this is a classy smell for self-confident women who are aware of their own beauty and power. Sweet and feminine. I personally don't feel repelled by the smell but it's not my favourite either. It's too sweet for my liking and more importantly it lacks in the uniqueness department. I feel this is a perfect dupe of a large number of perfumes from 10-15 years ago. That's why I cannot help feeling that the target customer for this perfume is an affluent mature woman.

Disclaimer: I received this product as a complimentary sample for my personal use and I'm not affiliated with any company. I am not paid to do this review and everything I said here is my personal opinion.
