Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light review & swatches

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders have taken the Internet by storm.  There are six of them in different shades providing different kinds of lumonosity to the skin. Although a number of other shades seemed tempting, the lavender one in particular, because I have oily skin I picked the one which has the lowest amount of shimmer.

The packaging of the powder is just amazing. The powder comes in a dark brown metallic case, consistent in shade with other Hourglass products. The compact looks like it's made of metal, but in fact it is good quality plastic, which is quite disappointing cause all plastic immitations of the real thing are kind of fake, but the packaging is lightweight and therefore more travel-friendly than metal cases.

The product inside is a very sheer light ivory powder which I'm sure would suit almost all skintones as it seems to disappear on the skin. If you glance at the powder casually, it will look matte, but upon a closer examination you will notice tiny microshimmer which contributes to the pearlescent finish of the powder.

This powder is by no means sparkly and I wouldn't recommend it as a highlighter, or perhaps a very subtle one. I use it as my all-over finishing powder which I like to apply on top of strongly mattifying foundations to add some glow to my face and avoid looking flat.

The texture of the powder is excellent. It's soft, you don't need to dig into the product with a brush, just touch the surface and the brush will pick the desired amount of product without sending clouds of dust in all directions.

This powder is an excellent product, the only disadvantage is that it's damn expensive and unavailable in Poland.
