Korean goodies: Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Cotton Fit #W13 review

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Cotton Fit #W13

I've tried a number of different BB Creams, both Korean and their imitations from the West. While I liked many of them for their skin care properties, coverage, ability to self adjust and unify the skin tone, I felt them lacking in one area which is oil control. The thing is that Korean idea of beauty is glowy face, which is very pretty as long as it doesn't mean sweaty, greasy shine all over your face. But this is the reason why it's hardly possible to find a BB cream, Korean or not, which would offer shine-free finish which would last for hours.

Encouraged by press releases and positive reviews, I made one more attempt at finding a BB Cream that would really suit oily skin. I got a new release from the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream line in spite of the fact that my previous experience with products from within a line weren't really successful. The Cotton Fit version of this BB cream turned out to be an amazing product, one of the best BB creams I've used. I love everything about this BB cream so read on to find out all the details.

 PACKAGING
A really pretty plastic tube with a pump. Convenient, lightweight and elegant. You get 60g of product, which is twice as much as the amount of a standard foundation.

SHADE
I picked this BB Cream in W13 Natural Beige, which is a perfect match for my fair, pink toned skin. Unlike many BB creams this shade is not ashy nor greige. It's a light beige with slight peachy-pink undertone.

APPLICATION
A little goes a long way. One pump is more than enough to cover my entire face. Consistencywise, this BB cream is more runny than other Korean BB creams I've tried and as a consequence of this, it's way easier to apply. You may apply it with your fingers, just like a moisturiser or with a brush. In each case the application is simple and the finish flawless.

COVERAGE
This BB cream gives me nice medium coverage, evens out my skin tone and brightens my skin beautifully. I don't think it's that  buildable really, excessive application results in the cream looking cakey and heavy.

FINISH
The finish you get using this foundation is not matte but it is as close to matte as a BB cream can get. This is the kind of velvet finish that satisfies me and doesn't make my face look more oily than normally.

 WEAR
I always set this BB cream with powder and I get a good 8-hour wear. Unfortunately my oilies break through within 3-4 hours, but this is what normally happens in my case. I need to blot, but this does not affect the wear time of the BB cream.

FRAGRANCE
This BB cream has a very pleasant fragrance which I associate with good quality powders.

SUN PROTECTION
SPF30 / PA++

There's nothing I don't like about this BB cream. It's not miraculous as far as oil control is concerned but I've learned to accept that miraculous potions don't exist. I can say that in these days, when my interest is BB cream is waning, I managed to find my favourite one.

  1. Very nice! I have the pink one of this BB cream and I really like it, but it's true that it's not tops for oil control and my skin seems to be more oily than before. I might have to give this a try!
