NYX Mega Shine Gloss in African Queen and Copper Penny review & swatches

NYX Mega Shine Gloss in African Queen and Copper Penny
Today I'd like to review two NYX Mega Shine Glosses that, in spite of being very pretty and flattering, are rarely mentioned among favourites or recommendations in blog posts or reviews.
Both African Queen and Copper Penny are smooth, opaque, glossy and non-sticky. They have a strong cherry scent, which I actually enjoy.

The applicator is a very comfortable and convenient fluffy doe foot that picks up the right amount of product and manages to spread it precisely around the lip.

AFRICAN QUEEN

African Queen is a truly unique shade. It's a duochrome with bright pink base and purple sheen. This shade looks different in different lighting conditions, also depending on how much colour you pack on your lips. The colour range varies from light, semi-transparent pink almost to the shade of the year, that is radiant orchid.
I won't lie, this lip gloss won't last all day, but it stays put for good 3-4 hours. Even when the vibrancy of the colour starts to fade, the shine still goes on.

COPPER PENNY

Copper Penny is a lovely shimmery coral shade with some copery undertones. It's a nice warm colour that screams spring to me. I like to use on top of my coral lipsticks and on its own.

As you can see, the gloss applies evenly, doesn't feather or settle into lines. Offers nice colour and shine that lasts for 3-4 hours.

Shopping online has many obvious disadvantages, the major one being that you might a wrong shade or, and this is what has happened to me, two identical shades in one haul.
Apart from my Mega Shine Gloss I also picked NYX Gloss in Amethyst, which turned out to be absolutely identical, the difference being less shine and no smell. So if you're hesitating between the two, you definitely don't need both. If I were to choose, I'd pick the Mega Shine one, but if you are scent-sensitive and want to save a couple of bucks, the regular round one is exactly the same.
