Vichy Idealia Life Serum review

Vichy Idealia Serum is a product which I liked, but was quite confused as to what it is supposed to be and who would enjoy it and for what purposes.

This serum is targets skin exposed to stress, smoke or an unbalanced diet. It offers instant radiance to the skin, while evening out the tone. As a result facial features appear rested and skin looks younger and healthier.

First of all I would like to say that the product description focuses on what skin appears to be like after using the serum, not on how it actually benefits from it. There's no mention of long-term results, only temporary looks. This is why it's closer to make-up than skin care, isn't it?

If this is a serum, so I guess you are supposed to use it under a face cream, but it's highly pearlescent, so I think it's better as a make-up base and covering it with a cream defeats the purpose.

I'm also not sure whether it's suitable for most skin types. Normal skin would benefit most from it.  If I had very dry skin, I'd use this serum over a good moisturiser. I have oily skin and I feel it's a bit too sticky and it  fully replaces a moisturiser and make-up base. Senvitive skin owners, be warned, this product is fragranced.

All in all, in spite of my critical opinion, I like this product, but as a 2-in-1 moisturiser and make-up base and not as a serum. It's not overly shiny, so it's a much better solution for oily skin than, say, L'Oreal Lumi primer. I'm considering getting this full size to use on days when my skin looks dull and gray.

Disclaimer: I received this product as a complimentary sample for my personal use and I'm not affiliated with any company. I am not paid to do this review and everything I said here is my personal opinion.
